Iyanla Keeps It 100 with Evelyn Lozada

Iyanla Vanzant still got it! She had me questioning if I am okay or got some hidden anger lurking! LOL. I am joking – kind of – but her sit down with a reality star hothead was deep, not only seeing her but even reflecting on decisions I have made based on acceptance, hurt and misguided anger.
BUT IT AIN’T ABOUT ME RIGHT NOW!
Part 1 of Evelyn Lozada‘s appearance on the OWN network’s “Fix My Life with Iyanla Vazant” aired Saturday night. Shot prior to the domestic incident between Evelyn and her soon to be ex-husband, Chad Johnson, Iyanla wanted to delve into the reasons why Evelyn was so angry on her reality show, “Basketball Wives.” Evelyn opens up about her greatest fears, being embarrassed that her step-daughters saw her “running across tables and throwing wine bottles” and her greatest fear of not being loved. She shed some tears but had an interesting observation out the gate: the absence of Chad. Originally, Chad was set to be apart of the filming but ended up leaving for L.A. Iyanla flat out told Evelyn during the latter part of the episode that her marriage was in trouble. Ol girl’s body language changed right away. She seemed to stiffen, looked uncomfortable and then had her arms folded in front of her. (Sidebar: if you are into body language, you know that you tend to do that close yourself off from someone.) Evelyn even admitted to the fear of losing what she has gained. However, it was a different story in part two…
In part two of Iyanla Vazant’s Fix My Life with Evelyn Lozada was after domestic violence incident. She came clean on knowing Chad wasn’t ffaithful, his temper, touching her prior to the head bunt, how her father’s absence contributed to her choice in men, teen promiscuity, and the list goes on. I love how Iyanla let her know she is angry at men but takes it out on the women around her because in a sense it’s safer. If you missed it, peep the video below.

Evelyn has said she’s a changed woman from this experience and prayerfully, she is. Don’t know how this will play out if there’s another season from the mastermind of Shed Media, VH-1 and Shaunie O’Neal.
