So in 2013 do you plan to get a new gig? Make a career switch? Join the crowd! According to Forbes, in recent surveys more than over 80 percent of workers said they planned to look for a new job in the New Year. 60 percent said they wanted to change career paths. And who is set to make the most career moves? Women. Education is a factor, too. The mag reports in the last few years, more women than men have pursued MBAs in order to make a mid-career switch.
So where should you change to?
Forbes released the “The 10 Best Jobs For Women In 2013” list. The magazine based the ranking on jobs satisfaction, salary, projected growth as well as annual openings. The data was analyzed by jobs expert Laurence Shatkin, Ph.D., author of “Best Jobs For The 21st Century”. Topping the list were jobs in health care, which is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the U.S. economy and dominated by women. But are you ready to commit to higher ed and more time at work? Most high momentum gigs are high-level professional jobs that require more education and a larger time commitment.. But as Forbes points out, women still face significant gaps in the arenas of leadership and salaries, earning just 82 percent of what their male counterparts earn with just one year out of college. Not fair but don’t give up – go out and move up!
