Foods & Veggies you should try to buy organically

Most people would prefer to buy organic produce but the costs can be crazy! This annual list published by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), warns consumers about fruits and vegetables with the highest pesticide levels. The “Dirty Dozen”: if you have to make choices in what organic produce you are going to buy, these are the ones that you should spend the extra money to buy organic as they are the ones with the highest amount of pesticides. 2011 Dirty Dozen Apples Celery Strawberries Peaches Spinach Nectarines (Imported) Grapes (Imported) Sweet bell peppers Potatoes Blueberries Lettuce Kale/collard greens The Clean 15 are the 15 fruits and veggies that typically have the lowest pesticide content. If you’re on a budget and can’t buy all organic, you are generally fine buying the “regular version” of these items! 2011 Clean Fifteen Onions Sweet corn Pineapples Avocado Asparagus Sweet peas Mangoes Eggplants Cantaloupe (Domestic) Kiwi Cabbage Watermelon Sweet potatoes Grapefruit Mushrooms
