115 Girls Pregnant - At ONE School!

As a married grown woman, I know the stress of motherhood. Everything from finances, to sickness to everyday responsibility is no joke. I applaud my single mothers who struggle to maintain  - especially my younger sisters. Having kids when you are barely grown is hard and requires a strong support system, determination and sacrifice. That is true at any age but even more detrimental for teen moms. I remember a friend of mine got pregnant really young. She made a vow after that she would have no more kids until she got married. It was hard to be 15 and be a mother. Thank God she kept that vow. Now, she has an amazing family though in early years she struggled.

While we don't want to make teens who find themselves pregnant feel condemned and hopeless, we do need to emphasize the seriousness of becoming a teen parent. Nor should it be encouraged. That is why the story I am about to share with you has my jaw dropping.  I mean, even when I was in high school we had some teen moms. But what about when that number rises to 115 in ONE school? I think they problem is that little girls grow up thinking that it is cute to walk around with a baby on their arm. It is our job as mothers to teach them that it is hard to raise kids at any age..WE must tell our children that they are beautiful and loved so that way when a little boy tells them it does not make them feel good.and we need to go back to the days when it was ok to talk about safe sex in school as well has at home because in this day and age children feel pressure from their friends.
