This man can preach the Word, talk about any issue and now is penning fictional work! It is Bishop T.D. Jakes back with another great read. Though he is known for his power-packed sermons, he has crossed over into mainstream with works such as "Not Easily Broken". Now he is back with his first Christmas themed novel, "The Memory Quilt: A Christmas Story For Our Times" Listen in as Bishop Jakes tells us about this heartwarming story as he intertwines the story of Mary, mother of Jesus, with the present-day story of a grandmother suffering great losses.

Entertainment Tidbits for Saturday 11/14/09

What's up! Ok ...the Saturday it's early for me. But nevertheless, here some heat from Hollyhood  for your Saturday pleasure!

Gucci Mane was on the road to recovering from a drug and alcohol addiction when he was sentenced to a year in prison this week. "[Gucci] told the court yesterday he was on a road to recovery in terms of being clean and sober," Dwight L Thomas, who also represented T.I. in his recent gun case told MTV Friday. "[He is] alcohol free and weed free. ... He's also dealing with the emotional issue of killing somebody. He's been in counseling and therapy." Gucci had been tested positive for cocaine and marijuana in the past and had not completed required community service stemming from two cases. With good behavior he could be out in as little as two months. Prayerfully, he can get the mental and emotional strength he needs ...

After news broke that Toni Braxton and husband, Keri Lewis were getting a divorce, sources say "Lil Nasty" aka Trey Songz is the reason!!! Remember I told you that Toni and Trey Songz performed together at the 2009 Soul Train recently and the two exchanged a heated kiss while hubby Keri was sitting in the audience. News of the divorce broke what...a week or two later? Anyhoo, neither party have confirmed the reason behind the divorce. When New Yorks media maven Egpyt interviewed Toni Braxton back in September on WBLS NYC, she eluded to problems in her marriage even then. Word is Toni set up the kiss with Trey Songz to get under Keri's skin and hit back at him for his rumored cheating habits. The duo have been married for 8 years and with two boys ...

I don't believe a woman can change a man, however, we do have the power of influence. While cussing and fussing your man into changing can backfire, there is a way to motivate your boo to be the best man he can be. Yes, he may be defiant. The 11-Year-Old Mother...And Bride!

I have had enough over the weeks. I told you about the high school in Chicago with over 100 pregnant girls. I was shocked last week when a cat who is 112 years old with a bride who is just 17.Now, we learn of an 11-year-old girl who has entered the history books by becoming one of the world's youngest mothers - and went into labor on the way to her wedding! (Sidebar: who let you get hemmed up?)

Kordeza Zhelyazkova, from Slive, Bulgaria, was still wearing her wedding dress and tiara as she was rushed to hospital, where she gave birth to 5lb 8oz Violeta, according to News of the World ."It feels strange to be a mum and have a baby," Kordeza, who became pregnant two weeks after her 11th birthday said. One Year Ago, History Was Made

A year ago people were making sure that their vote counted. It was excitement and fervor as a change was anticipated. Though the memory is in my mind as if it just happened yesterday, it has been a whole year since the White House got some color in its' leadership. November 4, 2008 President Barack Obama made history as the first African American president.

Beyond the color of his skin, this presidency has displayed many significant factors - especially for black families. This president has challenged our brothers to be better fathers. His wife is a true partner, not the stereotype of black family drama that some buy into as solid truth. (Sidebar: ALL families have their own issues regardless of race, right?) Entertainment Tidbits for Saturday 10/31/09

Thomas Marasciullo claims in a federal lawsuit that Weezy and Birdman stole his voice and used it on two CDs. Ol boy says he recorded some "Italian-styled" spoken words for Cash Money Records in 2006 but was never paid or told how the recordings were to be used, a lawsuit filed yesterday in Manhattan Federal Court claims. "Like Father, Like Son" came out in October 2006 with Marasciullo's recordings on it, the suit says. In December 2007, Birdman and Lil Wayne released a CD again with Marasciullo's voice, the lawsuit says. SO you know he wanna get paid right? No comment from Cash Money yet.

So I went to Cali to visit the set of the George Lopez show, "Lopez Tonight!" coming to TBS, November 9th. George was super cool and is ready to put a hurting on late night talk! Lopez Tonight will include guests from the worlds of entertainment, sports, pop culture and politics. The show will feature a street-party feel, with pumped-up music, a FAB band, audience interaction and a format that is open to change each day. G-Lo cites "The Arsenio Hall Show" as one of his biggest influences.
