So what have we learned?

All this talk about the school board closing schools & teachers losing their jobs is pathetic, & perhaps a very avoidable situation. We all know how bad a job the school board has been doing for years & yet we have allowed them to run off superintendent after superintendent with HUGE severance packages while we still don't have the proper educating tools for our children & now to save money they want to close schools?
I don't totally blame the KCMSD, because parental involvement has been slim to nil for years, I was watching a basketball game covered by one of the news stations recently & it was pathetic, the stands were empty pretty much other than some cheerleaders the and a few students there was no one there. We don't even support our children's after school activities. Back in the day if you were late to any kind of ...

Well it's been ten years, & that means it's time to fill out that good old American census! Now for some reason & I can only speculate as to why, but African Americans do participate in this practice as we all need to.
Considering the federal dollars that are allocated from the results of the census not to mention the shaping of political districts & the number of representatives each district receives.
This process is not long, it doesn't take up much of your time, and the questions are simple. So when the census arrives at your home, do the right thing & fill it out & turn it in or answer the door give the census taker the right information and be counted.

Ok granted this is the first real snow we've seen in KC in like 20 years, but man what has the school district come to? We would have been at school even if the heat went out, I mean these kids even get heat days HEAT DAYS?????? What the hell is that? They have air conditioners, we had to prop open the window with a big dictionary only to let the hot air from outside blow in on us!
All I'm saying is look how soft and coddled these kids today are, everything comes too easy for them, they can't take a joke, most can't read or speak English well, and spend waaay to much time watching & listening to the worst music ever created, playing video games & eating hot chips & snack cakes.
Go outside & play if your gonna be home from school so much, use your ...

When you're young there are certain age bench marks that we look forward to, such as 16 so we can get that oh so coveted drivers license, 21 so we can go drinking & clubbing we even look forward to an age when car insurance is lowered, but there are ages that we need to take a more serious look at.
When we get into our 30's & 40's there are some very serious medical testing that we should start to schedule regularly, and of course we don't. We figure we feel fine & everything appears to be in working order so why bother.
But not all medical problems come with immediate symptoms or signs, and can be just as deadly!
I have a very close friend who has recently undergone breast surgery & she's as healthy as they come. She recently shared with me that "as healthy as I ...
