"THE WACK TO THE 90's TOUR".......TICKET BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!

******SPECIAL NOTE***** Notice the THEY........IN THIS BLOG.
As a concert ticket buyer, you always have to beware of the concerts that come to town. How do you know which ones will be legit and which ones are not? You don't, until you get there. That's why I say ticket buyer beware. Now.... As far as "THE WACK TO THE 90's TOUR" last night at the Uptown Theater....WOW! where do I start? Well...let's start at the beginning.
DOOR OPEN AT 7PM....CONCERT START AT 8PM......NOT!!! That's where things went to the left. THEY come to me and tell me to go on stage at 8:30 pm and say the concert will start shortly. Well about 9:15 pm I go on stage to announce the first act, Yung J. (a 13 year old up and coming artist at a old school concert). I will give Yung J. his props, he's gonna be good. Before I announce him THEY tell me that the group Next will follow him. After Yung J goes off stage and I'm about to announce Next, I look over my shoulder and THEY tell me to STALL for 5 min, to give Next time to get ready, so I stall for 10 minutes. Thinking this was enough time I introduce the group Next. It was not until I go off stage do I find out that THE GROUPS ARE NOT EVEN IN THE BUILIDING. If you ask me, I think it was about money, but why would they have me announce them. Okay, now it's 9:30, 9:45, and now close to 10pm. In the mean time, THEY want me to keep going on stage and continue to tell the crowd that the show will start shortly. Without me going into what I said, because what I said to THEM I can't begint to repeat on here. Let's just say I said ^&%$#@ ^^&**^% $$%^&*$$% %^%$$ ....because ya'll will be leaving my town tomorrow moving on to the next town. These are our listeners and friends and I live here and I'm not going to keep going out there telling this crowd some bull$%^&, unless the group is standing right next to me....I ain't doing or saying anything. Now it's just after 10 pm when I get a text from a friend from the box office saying he and others are leaving and that they had just got a refund. Back on the inside of the theater the crowd is getting VERY VERY VERY RESTLESS AND UNHAPPY after waing now, almost 3 hours from the time that the doos opened and no show yet. Can you blame them? On my way to the lobby, the groups are just now coming into the venue. When I get to the lobby, THEY want me to help control the crowd in the lobby who are now DEMANDING their money back. I said to THEM are you $%^&*& kidding me? You want me to tell this crowd after 2 1/2 hours that the show is about to start and ALL the groups are gonna perform. H#$% NO!!!!!!! That's on ya'll. So I went back stage to check out the situation. I saw that the situation was still the same and that some of the groups HAD NOT been paid. The show did SOMWHAT go on...for what it was worth. Some people did stay to see whoever went on satge. As I was leaving I don't know who was performing but It was then I find out the groups had been performing their music on an I-pod. LMAO.... In closing, I also want to say that.....IN NO WAY WAS I AS THE HOST OF THE CONCERT OR KPRS HOT 103 JAMZ RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT CRAP that happen last night at the Uptown Theater........"THE WACK TO THE 90"s TOUR". NOTE....The promoters come to the station to buy advertising time to promote their events and that's what we do. ADVERTISE!!!! We have no control as to what happens after that. THANKS!

Thanks Tony, This is the information I need to send to ticketmaster and if need be to my attorney. All I need now is the name of the promotion group. I do not hold kprs responsible. I was in the second roll and saw first hand the frustration you had. I also was there for almost 3 hours before leaving and there was still no concert going on.

And another thing no the concert wsnt the best but i wld say it wsnt a total LOST either!! And as far as the promoters yea their frm KC but all and all it wsnt their fault. but wat i will say is that no matter wat the people tht put this show together(and u knw who u are) they do wat they in this city so much propts to them!!

Sebrina, usually when they give refunds to concerts you have to go back to the original place of purchase. I'm sorry you had to experience something like this for your first concert.

i never did get a refund and i have email kprs, i do not know who to hold resposible but i just want a refund i never saw a concert

I am so sorry that you had to go thru such mess. That's crazy. Even though I was not there we don't hold you or KPRS responsible for that.

Wow is all I can say Tony. So sorry you had to even be on stage for this mess. It is promoters like this that make me (the buying public) not want to attend concerts. I just put the cd's on and listen in the comfort of my home. Please know that people will not hold you or the station reaponsible for the mess that went down Friday.
