For the past 6 years The KNOW JOEY? Foundation, lead by Joey Thomas,  strives to empower, lead and uplift young males in the Kansas City urban core through educational advancement and the exploration of entrepreneurial endeavors though its “Grooming for Success Program”, a youth camp to teach and mentor African-American boys in becoming entrepreneurs, and its Annual “Fresh Cut Fresh Start Back-to-School Community Challenge”. Since 2009, the Fresh Cut Community Challenge has provided over 700 free haircuts and school supplies for Kansas City youth as they head back to school each year.
