Bigger May Not Always Be Better!
Posted 3/8/2010 11:00:00 AM
Some women have always had curvaceous booties - way before the J. Lo era. In fact, I dare to say that before being bottom heavy was in within mainstream America, sistas had it goin' on way before that! In the black culture, curves were always celebrated. That to me is great because it can be easier to keep curves than force yourself to be stick-thin. But not all women - including black ones - automatically got that extra on the bottom.
I remember when that chick from "The Parkers", Countess Vaughn got her behind filled up. A lot of sistas were like, "Why?" We assume most of us got some or a lot of junk in the trunk. (Sidebar: And for those who don't, you can do some squats and Stairmaster to amp up your backyard.) And when all else fails, work with what you got from the good ...
Entertainment Tid Bits for Saturday 03/06/10
Posted 3/6/2010 11:15:00 AM
What's up my peeps! Here's some entertainment tid bits for ya today:
Trey Songz is off to Acapulco for MTV's just announced Spring Break 2010. He'll join Young Money and Pitbull. This year's festivities will kick off March 20 on MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits, MTV James, and MTV.com. Running through March 26, Spring Break 2010 will also feature appearances from Funk Flex and "Jersey Shore' personalities "Lil Kim Jr" AKA...Snooki, Pauly, and Mike "The Situation". I can't believe they make money for...never mind.
Remember when Suge Knight had money? While it seems that was soooo long ago, the government says, "So what!?" The IRS want over $6 milli from ol' Suge. That's not the only money woe he faces. Suge's baby mama filed child support papers against Suge in January which revealed Suge's net income is only $1,207 a month. How'd Suge get to that status!? This means he ...
Cheatin' and Creepin' in the Digital Age
Posted 3/4/2010 11:00:00 AM
I love.... love. I mean, when you see faithful committed relationships, it's a beautiful thing. But what happens when a mate is using technology to get their creep on? How do you know? Do you even look for signs of cheating?
Detroit's mayor Kwame Kilpatrick got caught cheating on his wife with his Chief of Staff Christine Beatty because of naughty texts they stupidly shared. Sidebar: government phones and you sextin'!? Then, there's Tiger Woods. Sigh. Mistress Jaimee Grubbs actually produced a digital paper trail that proved Tiger's cheating ways. While some of us were, like "Why, oh, why?" because texts can surely bust a cheater.
Or maybe not.
Have you heard of the iPhone app that helps cheaters cheat? Who created this and why!? BOOOOOO!!! Anyhoo,Tiger Text erases text messages from the recipients' phones, eliminating incrimination. Senders have the ability to decide how long they'd like the text massage to stay on a ...
Sprite Step Off Dual Win Gets Dissed!
Posted 3/3/2010 11:40:00 AM
I guess this white sorority who won the Sprite Step Off is not dying down quietly.
You and I discussed the incident (see previous blog posts) about when the Zeta Tau Alpha ladies won, beating out my sorors, the AKA's and other black greek organizations. The uproar afterwards hit the net with many blasting why they took home the $100,000 grand prize. However, days later a scoring "error" was found, thus calling for another prize to be added. That's when one of the AKA chapters also got $100,000.
Now, the issue is being looked at as reverse bigotry. I remember one time a white frat beat out my bruh's at a show! No one took it real serious. But...noone had a chance at $100,000! It is suspect to many that suddenly days after the win, all of sudden it's wrong scoring. Maybe Sprite couldn't deal with the backlash. KC columnist ...
Sprite $100,000 Steppers Got to Share It now!
Posted 2/26/2010 11:30:00 AM
So the other day did you see my post where some folks were shocked after an all white sorority won first prize in Sprite's $100,000 Step Off in the ATL? Well, it turns out Zeta Tau Alpha will be sharing the top spot instead. Sprite announced Thursday that because of a scoring discrepancy in the sorority results, the second-place winners, the Tau Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. from Indiana University, would be recognized as co-winners and awarded the same $100,000 prize.
The change was revealed in a Facebook statement but didn't give any insight into the exact problem with the scoring, nor how it was discovered. The announcement came after days of blog posts and YouTube comments alternating between support for Zeta Tau Alpha's win and those who didn't dig it.
Zeta Tau Alpha is a predominantly white organization, which took first place in a tradition that has historically been dominated by African-American fraternities ...
Getting a Gold for the Brass Pole: Olympic Pole Dancing!
Posted 2/26/2010 10:45:00 AM
So I took a pole fit class and understand a few things.
I was not as sexy as the professional polers.
It was hard.
And my thighs were bruised the next day.
While pole dancing previously was solely a strip club thing, now it's at the epicenter of fitness routines. There's even detachable poles for those who want to pole at home - for fitness or some marital frisky fun. But can you imagine pole dancing in the Olympics!? Some say it should be so. Read here for the 411!

Could Junk Food Land You In...Jail?!
Posted 2/24/2010 11:20:00 AM
A life of crime will land us in the slammer. But can a life of eating junk food lead us there as well? Nutrition expert Doug Ingoldsby points to research that analyzed the diets of 1000 prisoners and diet made the difference. While we may not end up locked up, junk food can make us feel like we NEED to be hemmed up somewhere! I know I crave sweets but don't always feel so sweet - especially during hormonal ups & downs. Listen in as the "Vitamin Professor" helps us to be sane -without the junk food!
The G.I.T. Squad: Golddiggers In Training?
Posted 2/21/2010 1:00:00 PM
Money can make or break some relationships. Don't get me wrong: of course, you want your man to work. Even the bible talks about if a man doesn't work, he doesn't eat! (2 Thessalonians 3:10 if you don't believe me!) But there is a difference in wanting to ensure your family has some sort of financial stability versus creating relationships based solely for financial gain.
Rewind to Tyra this past week. Tyra had some women on her show this week, accused of teaching their young daughters to be a golddiggers. Of course, I would want my nieces and "surrogate daughters" to have men who can contribute to the overall good of their family. Nothing wrong with that, right? But, sadly some of the little girls said they believed money is the sole reason to marry. One little girl actually said money can buy happiness! It is possible to have money ...
