Hometown: Kansas City, MO. Grew up in Hickman Mills.

Favorite Artists/Performers: My taste range from R&B, Gospel, Hip Hop and ‘dem some! My top list includes Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Fantasia, Mary Mary, Chris Brown (great talent –just “special”), Drake (radio edits…my ears are PG-13), “Trigga” Trey Songz, Usher and Sevyn Streeter is a newbie I’m really diggin’ too!

Favorite Album/CD: I rarely listen to an album all the way through; I find a song or two and replay them over and over! But I cannot lie: my all time favorite that doggone Mary J. Blige, “What’s the 411?” I can sing every song all the way through. Mary helped a sista through some hard times in the ‘Burg!

Favorite Hobbies: Working out, reading, writing and cooking. Secretly there is a chef living inside of me.

Favorite Sports Team(s): Miami Heat and I gotta love my Chiefs. Bless their hearts….and bless ’em with a Superbowl! (Please?????!!!!)

Favorite Quote: Straight from the Word: “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised,” from Proverbs 31:30. Beauty ain’t forever so you better have more to offer than a pretty face and a hot body! It’s a great reminder that even though some are sucked in by initial charm and outer beauty, inner character matters. If you cray-cray or ugly on the inside, trust…. it will surface. #Church

Favorite Foods: GOOD macaroni and cheese – that means homemade – not out the box! Other favorite foods are Mexican, Italian and good brunch.

Favorite Things About Kansas City: There are parts of Kansas City that are great to raise a family that have nice and affordable housing. I love the rich culture we have in the arts, and the philanthropic spirit that resides here.

Favorite Movies: The Best Man, Love Jones, and Boomerang. Another movie I used to always watch was Thelma and Louise.

Favorite TV Shows: My throwbacks I still watch “A Different World”, “Eve” and “Martin” episodes from the first two seasons. But now I am a Gladiator – love me some “Scandal”, “Mary Mary”, “R&B Divas” and somehow I still get suckered in to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and some of the “Love & Hip Hop”! Don’t judge me…

What Community Causes That Are Close To You? My passion is youth so I have mentored, work in high school youth ministry at my church and serve organizations that focus on empowering teens/young adults in the areas of education, conflict resolution, healthy esteem, decision making, and creating health relationships. I am also a member of the Hickman Mills Prevention Coalition, founded to create safer and drug free communities in South KC.

How Did You Choose Your DJ Name? I don’t know. It was catchy, simple, and it was better than Lil’ Julie. (Someone wanted to name me that….side eye) But I switched up the spelling so it would have a lil’ pizazz!

How Did You Get Into Radio? I was going to be an accountant but my mother kept saying she envisioned me in the broadcast arena. After I rolled my eyes, I went to CMSU (now UCM) for an information day. They mentioned Broadcast and Film as a major. I thought about my mother and decided to take a class. And the rest is history – or shall I say “my-story.”
