Parents of H&M Model Give First Interview

Remember the controversy over the H&M hoodie with the young black boy? Last week it was said his mom thought it was too much of an uproar.

(Sidebar: Since then, he’s been offered a $1 million dollar contract by Diddy for Sean John.)

Well, both his parents have given their first interview. If you missed the tea, check it out, via Pulse of Radio:

The parents of the young black boy who caused an uproar after modeling for H&M in a green hoodie with the phrase “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle,” have spoken out. During an interview with the British show, This Morning, the boy’s mother, Terry, said, “It is not an overreaction when it comes to racism. Everyone should act differently based on their opinions of what racism is.” When asked if they remembered the photo shoot, both parents said they did not. The young boy, whose name is Liam, is signed to a Swedish modeling agency hired by H&M. The parents later said that while they understand the controversy, they don’t view the hoodie the same. Terry said, “I wouldn’t see such a connection to anything other than my son modeling a shirt. To put the T-shirt and the word monkey with it that is not my way of looking at it.”
