Kodak Black Released From Jail Early

Kodak Black is a free, after being released from jail early Saturday morning August 18th. The 21-year-old rapper (born Dieuson Octave), served seven months in Broward County jail in Florida after authorities raided his home in January. Police searched his Pembroke Pines home in January after an Instagram video revealed marijuana around his son. He was arrested and charged with child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and marijuana possession. In February, charges of child neglect and grand theft of a firearm were dropped. He pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and marijuana possession, and was initially supposed to serve one year in prison. However, his release was moved from October to August 18. While incarcerated, Kodak legally changed his name to Bill K. Kapri and passed his GED Ready test. Kodak was picked up in a black Bentley Bentayga SUV and driven to his mother’s home to see his son upon his release on Saturday morning. Black is now awaiting trial for sexual assault charges in South Carolina from October 2017.
