Lupus Awareness Month

May is Lupus Awareness Month.

Lupus is a chronic and autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation and pain in any part of your body.  Lupus also affects more women than men. If you have lupus, your risk is higher for other health problems that are common in women, such as heart disease and increases chances for other illness, including COVID-19. Certain racial or ethnic groups are also at a higher risk for lupus, including African American and Hispanic/Latino people. Join nationwide efforts in May to make lupus visible by raising awareness about lupus.
