#Her-Story: Brandy Woodley, The First Black Park Hill School Board Member

As we witness the racial reckoning nationwide, we’re experiencing it right here in the metro. This is evident in the outcome of a couple of Tuesday’s school board races. Lee’s Summit elected its’ second Black member, Rodrick Sparks. But history – or “her-story” – was also made in the Park Hill district. Voters elected Brandy Maltbia Woodley, making her the district’s first Black school board member. Listen in as she discusses her journey, the importance of parents speaking out and more.
