The Department of Education announced state-by-state breakdown of over $5 billion in funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) provided in the President’s American Rescue Plan. This includes the two HBCU’s in Missouri: Harris-Stowe State and Lincoln universities.

These funds were provided through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund over the past year. As the largest federal investment ever in the country’s HBCUs, this is part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to advancing racial equity and support for underserved communities. Investments have also been made in other educational institutions that serve minority students, including community college. Listen in as Dr. Tony Allen, Chair of the President’s HBCU Board of Advisors, shares more.
