85+ Walk-in Vaccinations

March 2, 2021 @ 9:00 am - March 31, 2021 @ 3:00 pm

The Unified Government Public Health Department (UGPHD) is now offering COVID-19 vaccinations without an appointment for people age 85 and older who live in Wyandotte County. Vaccinations for other groups, such as critical workers, are still by appointment only.

Wyandotte County seniors over 85 may come in any time Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM, at one of these locations:

West Location (former Best Buy facility)
10500 Parallel Parkway
Kansas City, KS 66109

Central Location (former Kmart facility)
7836 State Ave
Kansas City, KS 66112

East Location Coming soon!

Seniors should bring the following with them:

  • • An ID or other proof of age (driver’s license, other government ID, birth certificate, etc.)
  • • Something showing their address (ID, piece of mail, etc.)
    • People age 85 and older living anywhere in Wyandotte County can come in for a vaccination without an appointment.

The UGPHD recognizes that not all people who live in Wyandotte County have a government-issued ID, and that this may be a barrier to vaccine access. An ID or other proof of age is needed for walk-ins of people age 85 and older at this time, but may not be required for all vaccinations. The UGPHD team and partner organizations are working on strategies to remove this barrier in upcoming stages of the vaccine roll-out.

Some people age 85+ may need to have someone with them, such as a family member or a caregiver. If the person accompanying them is age 65-84 and lives in Wyandotte County, they may also be vaccinated at the same time without an appointment. They must also bring ID or other documents showing their age and address.

Other people who want to sign up for vaccines can go to WycoVaccines.org or call 3-1-1 to complete the Vaccine Interest Form. Please note, you may not be contacted immediately to set up an appointment. If you are eligible, the UGPHD will reach out to set up an appointment when there are adequate available vaccine supplies and appointment slots to get you scheduled. Supplies are limited at this time.
