Snoop Debuts His Gospel Tracks

Via ABC Air Power Prep:

Snoop Dogg’s first-ever gospel album, and 16th studio project, Bible of Love, doesn’t come out until March 16. Still, the rapper has already released five tracks — “Blessing Me Again,” “Words Are Few,” “Blessed & Highly Favored” (Remix), “Saved” and “You” — from the 32-track double disc. Snoop and Bishop Rance Allen’s vocals can be heard on “Blessing Me Again, while rapper and singer-songwriter B Slade joins Snoop on “Words Are Few.” Meanwhile, “Blessed and Highly Favored” (Remix) gives a hip-hop twist to The Clark Sisters’ original version of the song; Faith Evans and 3rd Generation show off their talents on “Saved”; and Tye Tribbett croons on “You.” As previously reported, Snoop credits his late grandmother, Dorothy Tate, for introducing him to gospel music and inspiring him to release a gospel album of his own. He says in a statement:

“I am blessed to have so many legendary friends join me on this journey. As the country is in one of its heaviest times and is so divided, I wanted to make an album that spreads love and unity around the world. That’s what I was taught, so that’s all I know. Real love.”
