The London Sessions

Mary J. Blige is an American singer, songwriter, model, record producer, and actress. Starting her career as a background singer on Uptown Records in 1989, Blige released her first album, What’s the 411?, in 1992, and has released 11 studio albums since and made over 150 guest appearances on other albums and soundtracks.

Following her concert date at the Essence Festival, on July 9, 2014 it was announced Blige would move to London to experiment with a new sound for her new album. Blige spent a month in London recording her album in RAK Studios with a host of young British acts, including Disclosure, Naughty Boy, Emeli Sandé and Sam Smith. Ten new songs, co-written and recorded by the singer, have been released on an album entitled, The London Sessions.

The London Sessions (out now), is the singer’s forthcoming thirteenth studio LP — with songs like “Therapy,” “Right Now,” “Nobody But You” and “Whole Damn Year.”
