What to Watch: Movie & TV Heat 1/27/18

Opening today via ABC Air Power:

 

Maze Runner: The Death Cure — The third and final installment of the dystopian sci-fi franchise finds young hero Thomas — played by Dylan O’Brien — embarking on his most dangerous mission yet: finding a cure for a deadly disease known as the “Flare.” Also starring Ki Hong Lee, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Dexter Darden, Jacob Lofland and Will Poulter. Rated PG-13.

 

Hostiles — An army captain — played by Christian Bale — reluctantly agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to his tribal lands in 1892. Rosamund Pike also stars. Rated R.

 

A movie you can check out at the crib is Faith Under Fire, starring Toni Braxton. It’s the real life story of Antoinette Tuff, who saved hundreds of lives from a gunman who charged into an elementary school in 2013. It airs tomorrow at 7pm.

 

Sunday Gear up for the 60th annual Grammy Awards, airing live from Madison Square Garden on CBS at a new time, 6:30 pm. The event will be hosted by James Corden for the second year in a row. E! Online reports Kendrick Lamar will open the show alongside U2 and Dave Chappelle. Other performers include Bruno Mars, Cardi B, SZA, Alessia Cara, Khalid, Logic, Lady Gaga, DJ Khaled, Rihanna, Bryson Tiller and Childish Gambino to name a few. Shout out to KCK natives who got Grammy nods –Anthony “J.White Did It” White, producer behind rapper Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” as well as minister and musician Bishop Cortez Vaughn for “You Deserve It,” with JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise. He’ll perform the gospel hit Sunday night!

 

Also Sunday, Eva Marcille makes her debut on RHOA. But does she have the real tea on Cynthia’s new boo?

 

So tonight more drama I’m sure on Bravo’s Married to Medicine. But in real life, Dr. Simone and Cecil Whitmore are divorcing. She told People Magazine right before taping the reunion. They met while she was a student at Spelman College and have been married for 21 years.

 

Girl! Are we sure? Gave him all those good youthful years and now this. We’ve seen their struggles play out this season but apparently, their fighting got worse when the Married to Medicine season wrapped.
