Tonight at the Riot Room, Talib Kweli was scheduled to perform in KC and I’m sure there were people excited to see the Blackstar rhymer do his thing on stage and possibly meet and greet Kweli. Unfortunately that won’t be happening as Kweli issued a statement explaining why he wouldn’t be hitting the stage tonight. Peep the story here:

I hate that it had to come down to this as Kweli is great on the stage and I’m sure he had plenty of fans in KC that wanted to see him. I also know what Kweli stands for and if you’re a fan or follower of Kweli then you understand why he wouldn’t perform there. I hope this doesn’t stop others from wanting to come to KC to perform and I hope that the Riot Room considers in the future which acts it wants to represent their venue. What are your thoughts on this?
