Opening nationwide Friday via ABC Air Power Prep:
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom — The sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World takes place three years after the events of the first film, with Owen and Claire — played by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, respectively, reprising their Jurassic World roles — scrambling to save the dinosaurs from extinction when the island’s previously dormant volcano erupts. B. D. Wong and Jeff Goldblum also reprise their roles from previous films in the series. Rated PG-13.
In TV heat, the Conner family will return to ABC following Roseanne’s cancellation — but without her after that racist tweet towards former Obama advisor, Valerie Jarrett. I didn’t watch the reboot but ABC announced much of the cast of Roseanne, including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman, will reprise their roles in the new show. It’s currently titled The Conners.
Luke Cage season two is available today on Netflix.
Mike Colter from Luke Cage along with T.I., Kevin Hart, LL Cool J, Bobby Brown, Chloe x Halle, and Superfly star Trevor Jackson will be presenters for the BET Awards Sunday night. Performers Nicki Minaj, Janelle Monae, Migos, H.E.R. and Ella Mai. The 2018 BET Awards will be hosted by Jamie Foxx. DJ Khaled tops the list of nominees this year with six nominations; Kendrick Lamar follows with five, while Migos and SZA have four each. Anita Baker will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Check it out Sunday at 7 on BET.
