What to Watch: This Week’s New Film Releases and TV Heat

In theaters today via ABC Air Power Prep:

Whitney –This documentary takes an in-depth, family-authorized look at the life and career of singer Whitney Houston, through never-before-seen archival footage, exclusive recordings, rare performances and interviews. Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, says the new Whitney documentary is special because it’s endorsed by her family — the only ones, who “know the story” and that the film is not sugar-coated. Among those interviewed for the documentary include Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston, music executives Clive Davis and L.A. Reid, and one of Whitney’s producers, Babyface. Rated R. (Video contains uncensored profanity.)

Ant-Man and The Wasp — Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang/Ant-Man is back, this time joining forces with Hope Pym/The Wasp, played by Evangeline Lilly. Together, they battle the Ghost — a villainess with the ability to phase in and out of the visible world — portrayed by Hannah John-Kamen. Michael Douglas and Michael Pena also reprise their Ant-Man roles, with Michelle Pfeiffer joining the cast. Rated PG-13.

In TV heat, Sanaa Lathan appeared on The Talk and was asked how it felt after the entire world accused her of biting Beyoncé at an industry party.
