Opening nationwide Friday and streaming, via ABC Air Power:

Toy Story 4 — The latest chapter in the 24-year Toy Story franchise finds Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear — voiced once again by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, respectively — and the rest of their playroom pals on a desperate rescue mission to find their new friend Forky, voiced by Tony Hale. He’s a new toy made out of a spork, a pipe cleaner, Popsicle sticks and a pair of googly eyes brought to life by Bonnie, the little girl introduced in Toy Story 3. Other voice actors include Annie Potts, Jordan Peele, Keegan Michael Key and Keanu Reeves. Rated G.


Child’s Play — This remake of the classic 1988 horror flick Child’s Play features Star Wars’ Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky, the killer doll a mother, played by Aubrey Plaza, gives to her son for his birthday, unaware of its sinister nature. Gabriel Bateman and Brian Tyree Henry also star. Rated R.

The coming-of-age-drama Beats on Netflix is streaming. The film follows August, played by Khalil Everage, a teenage musical prodigy with agoraphobia — an ailment that the Mayo Clinic defines as “a type of anxiety disorder in which you fear and avoid places or situations that might cause you to panic and make you feel trapped, helpless or embarrassed.” August later develops an unlikely friendship with Romelo, a former manager-turned-high school security guard played by Anthony Anderson. Beats, also stars Dave East, Dreezy and Uzo Aduba.

The 2019 BET Awards airs Sunday, hosted by actress Regina Hall. Meek Mill, Fantasia, DaBaby, Jeremih, Kirk Franklin, Cardi B, Migos, H.E.R., Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lizzo to name a few will all hit the stage. Presenters include Power star La La Anthony, Ayesha Curry, Amanda Seales and more. The late Nipsey Hussle will be posthumously honored with the Humanitarian Award. My girl Mary J. Blige will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and Tyler Perry will be recognized with the Ultimate Icon Award. 7pm on Sunday!
