White House Correspondent April Ryan On Her New Book. “Black Women Will Save the World: An Anthem.”

After the results of the last couple of election cycles, we know the mantra “Black women save democracy” has been at the helm. While Black women have been doing the work of civic engagement for decades, we’re showing up in spaces we previously didn’t occupy; from the White House to the Supreme Court and more. The message is clear that Black women are making a difference, at the forefront and behind the scenes.

In the political realm.
In board rooms.
In our communities.
In our families.

And wherever we show up.

White House Correspondent April Ryan reinforces that message as she focuses on the power of Black women in her new book, “Black Women Will Save the World: An Anthem”.
Ryan is the longest-serving Black female White House Correspondent, and the only Black woman reporter covering urban issues from the White House—a position she has held since the Clinton era. She is an author, speaker, CNN Political Analyst and DC Bureau Chief for TheGrio. Ryan recently received a standing ovation at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner for speaking up for marginalized voices in urban communities.

Listen in as we discuss the book, her career, and Ryan’s message for Black women during this era.
