One piece of advice when it comes to higher education is don’t leave money on the table. Each year, thousands of scholarship dollars go unclaimed because potential students don’t apply. While many may be unaware, it’s important to put the word out when organizations are trying to inform students about what opportunities are available. This Sunday at St. James UMC, they are doing just that – and presenting future college goers with an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) experience.

The Scholarship and HBCU Experience at St. James UMC is a free event taking place this Sunday, 11:30am – 2pm at 5540 Wayne. Multiple HBCU’s will be on site, as well as information for those interested in community college and trade schools. Listen in as Dr. Yvette Kim Richards, Director of Community Connections & Missions, shares more.
