Kansas City has one of the highest murder rates in the nation. Sadly in 2022; the city had 171 homicides, the second highest in the city’s history. Violence is a public health crisis in our city.
That is why Swope Health and KC Common Good are hosting a community town hall tonight (Wednesday, April 5th) at the Kansas City Public Library Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. The town hall starts at 5:30 p.m. It’s free and open to the public. The discussion will feature panelists Alvin Brooks, community activist; KCPD Police Chief Stacey Graves, and Dr. Jennifer Collier, superintendent for Kansas City Public Schools.
