Kansas City has one of the highest murder rates in the nation. Sadly in 2022; the city had 171 homicides, the second highest in the city’s history. Violence is a public health crisis in our city.

That is why Swope Health and KC Common Good are hosting a community town hall tonight (Wednesday, April 5th) at the Kansas City Public Library Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. The town hall starts at 5:30 p.m. It’s free and open to the public. The discussion will feature panelists Alvin Brooks, community activist; KCPD Police Chief Stacey Graves, and Dr. Jennifer Collier, superintendent for Kansas City Public Schools. Moderated by Swope Health President and CEO Jeron Ravin, JD, listen in as he shares more.
