Community Corner: The All Girls Matter Conference Is Coming to Kansas City
The All Girls Matter Empowerment Conference is coming Saturday, October 7th to Kansas City! The conference host is Dr. Tragil Wade (Dwayne Wade’s big sister), the founder of America’s Big Sisters Foundation.
According to new CDC data released in February, teen girls are experiencing record high levels of violence, sadness and mental challenges. This conference will address those issues, while providing a supportive space for girls to explore their dreams and boost their self-esteem.
The All Girls Matter Conference is a free event for girls 9-18 with workshops hosted by experts, panel discussions, community resources, giveaways and more. It takes place at UMKC’s Student Union, at 5100 Cherry St, KCMO.
