The House of Representatives had a moment of silence for victims of the shooting after the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade, which killed Elizabeth “Lisa” Lopez-Galvan, a DJ at radio station KKFI. Over 20 people were injured, including multiple children. This has brought to light the issue of gun laws in Missouri, which are some of the most lax.

No age restrictions on gun use and possession.
No background checks for private sales.
No permit required for concealed carry.
No permit required for open carry.
No license required for owners.
No firearm registration.
No assault weapon law.
No magazine capacity restriction.

Missouri Congressman Emanuel Cleaver says it’s time to end just thoughts and prayers; it’s time for action to help prevent these tragedies as much as we can. Not by “taking guns” but by common sense gun laws.
