Community Corner: CASA Court-Appointed Special Advocates of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties Volunteer Training

CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties serves approximately 43% of the children who move through Johnson & Wyandotte County court systems as a direct cause of abuse and neglect. It is because of CASA’s mission and volunteers that they can advocate for these children, making a major difference in their lives. Volunteers are appointed by a judge to advocate for a child’s best interest in court make the most well-informed decision for each child.

This spring, CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties will be offering two Pre-Service Training opportunities for prospective community members with a passion for the mission. Register by March 1 for daytime classes beginning March 20 or evening classes beginning March 21.CASA volunteer, Bob St Peter, shares more about the organization and the upcoming training opportunities.
