I celebrate the many sistas I’ve seen earning their doctoral degrees. I’ve heard about the sacrifices made to achieve such an accomplishment. KC native, Dr. Jennifer Malone, is one of eight women who contributed to the book Inspired to “Climb Higher: The Challenges, Struggles, Questions, and Joy of Earning Your Doctoral Degree”, out now.
She describes the doctoral studies guide as “a motivational GPS” for those on that path. The book invites readers to experience the personal stories of these eight women with unique doctoral journeys who, while facing or overcoming the sometimes-mountainous challenges of everyday life, accepted the call to seek the highest level of academic achievement.
Dr. Malone is a full-time professor at Missouri Western State University in the Department of Education. Listen in as she shares more.
