Community Corner: Newhouse Domestic Violence Shelter is a Lowe’s Hometowns Grant Recipient

download-14

Lowe’s launched the fourth year of the Lowe’s Hometowns, a five-year, $100 million commitment that revitalizes 100 community spaces each year. This year, one of the recipients is Newhouse, Inc., the first domestic violence shelter, in Kansas City.

Newhouse is the only domestic violence shelter in the urban core – providing shelter, food, clothing, and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, Newhouse will tackle much-needed upgrades and renovations since they moved into the building in 1999. President and CEO, Courtney Thomas, shares more and how the community can help serve their cause.
