Guadalupe Centers is the longest continuously operating organization serving Latinos in Kansas City. This Monday, August 4th, they are hosting a major community Back-to-School event from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at its main administrative building, bringing together families for a day of support, celebration, and school readiness.
In partnership with UnidosUS, El Centro, and Mattie Rhodes Center, this free event will distribute over 1,000 backpacks, along with new shoes, books, and essential school supplies to local students. In addition to the giveaways, attendees will have access to a variety of vendors, community resources, including health and wellness information, educational materials, and family support services. Leo Prieto, Chief Community Officer at Guadalupe Centers, shares more.
