
January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, which affects over 13,000 women annually in the U.S. 90% of cases are HPV-related, due to the Human papillomavirus. The HPV vaccine is the biggest source of prevention, while regular screenings (pap smears and HPV tests) are crucial to early detection and treatment.
