What is Hydrate KC?
Founded in 2022 by Community Activist and Executive Director of Creative Innovative Anton Washington, Hydrate KC began as a response to rising homelessness, public health crises, and extreme heat emergencies in underserved communities. This initiative ensures equitable access to water and personal care resources while building bridges between local citizens, nonprofits, and grassroots organizers.
“Hydration is a human right, just like housing. We are making sure no one is left behind in the heat,” says Washington, who knows firsthand the challenges of surviving summer streets without shelter or support.
